Author Guidelines

Important Note

DIJI expects all submissions to be original, meaning works which have not been published elsewhere or which are not under consideration for publication in any other journal or magazine (online or print). Authors should ensure that their submissions conform to the guidelines provided herewith, failing which they will not enter the editorial workflow. The submissions will be thoroughly reviewed by the experts on our editorial board and the subsequent decision made regarding the acceptance/rejection of a submission thereof will be final.

Article formats

We invite you to make submissions based on your functional research on any of the above mentioned aspects of Diversity and inclusion. Your submissions may take the form of (but not limited to)

  • Original papers
  • Review papers
  • Discussion of analytical and simulation models
  • Case studies
  • Technical notes
  • Interviews
General Instructions
  • Author(s) should submit the manuscript in Microsoft word (.doc) format. (not as PDF or .docx)
  • Manuscripts should ideally run between 5000 and 8000 words. Please inquire with the editor if your submissions are shorter / longer.
  • The manuscript should mention the time period in which the research was conducted.
  • The file size may not exceed 10 MB size for submission through the online submission portal and 15 MB if it is submitted as an attachment over mail to submit@diversityinclusionjournal.org.
  • The submission should include a brief summary (abstract) of the content (not more than 250 words) and at least three keywords indicative of the premise.
  • The manuscripts must be single-spaced typed, written in clear, grammatical English with no typographical errors. Webster's New International Dictionary or the Oxford English Dictionary may be referred for spell check.
  • In the first page of the paper (cover page), please provide full names (first, middle and last names) and full addresses (institute's address along with designation and correspondence address) along with email address of the author(s).The author's name or affiliations should not appear anywhere else in the body of the manuscript.
  • Every manuscript should be labeled as being any of the following:
    • A research paper
    • A review paper
    • Discussion of analytical and simulation models
    • A case study
    • A technical note
    • An interview
    • Other
  • Tables should be numbered consecutively. The title of the table should be placed above the table. The source should be indicated at the bottom. Please provide table(s) as real table(s) with rows, columns and cells. Each piece of information should reside in its own cell.
  • Three descending levels of headings should be used periodically and consistently throughout the article. They should be descriptive but brief.
  • Tables, charts, diagrams, and other graphic materials should be used for providing necessary information or clarification of central concepts. They should be clean and uncluttered and should appear on separate pages.
  • Figures should be numbered consecutively. Wherever necessary, the source should be indicated at the bottom. The figures should also be given relevant captions.
  • All tables, charts, graphs, diagrams should be black and not in color.
  • The images should be of high resolution and in black and white only. Number and complexity of such exhibits should be as low as possible.
  • All charts and graphs should be drawn legibly.
  • References should be included at the end of the paper. All the references should be cited in the body of the text. References and citations should be complete in all respects and arranged in alphabetical order.
  • Display formulae and mathematical equations should be numbered serially.
  • Footnotes, italics, and quotation marks should be kept to the minimum.
  • Articles should be as jargon-free as possible. Terminology and acronyms that are not common knowledge should be defined. Technical material should be placed in notes or appendices whenever possible.
  • Citation order should be author(s) (first name first), title of work, complete publication information (city, state, publisher, date or name of periodical, volume and issue number, date), and page number references. The accuracy of citations and references is the responsibility of the author(s).
  • For more specific guidelines, consult a recent issue.

We invite you to write original short articles / blogs / vignettes within the scope of DIJI that could be featured on the portal. These could be opinions / views on D & I, anecdotal experiences on D & I or short case studies on the same theme.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

  • Please explicitly mention the strand of "Diversity & Inclusion" that the article talks about.
  • Please mention your name, organizational / institutional affiliation and address at the beginning of the article.
  • Please also attach a recent passport size photograph of yours along with the article.
